By maintaining an understanding of what our customers want, and delivering the concept, we have been able to remain at the forefront of the building envelope specific design solution industry in New Zealand.
We specialise in engineered aluminium facade systems and products that are high performing, innovative and resilient. Our solutions include:
high performance, pressure equalised, curtainwall | heavy duty commercial windows and doors | total vision and structural glass assemblies | specific design total clad systems | solar shading systems | metal folding & finishing | atrium and skylights | integrated fins | shopfronts | high end residential windows and doors | rainscreens | channel glazing | mechanical louvres
Consultation & Design
Our design teams work alongside the client, architects and engineers providing critical technical specialist expertise from concept to completion. We design and detail to meet the project’s demand for seismic risk, wind loads, climate zones, corrosion zones and building importance levels as well as aesthetics, unique site constraints and budgetary requirements.
We have the knowledge and expertise to assure a compliant, buildable, warrantable and high performance solution that cohesively integrates our low-carbon aluminium prefabricated commercial windows & doors, solar shading, rooflights and other facade products into your project.
Integrated Service
We offer a totally integrated service for early sub-contractor involvement (ECI or ECE Engagement) for construction documentation prior to consent, assisting with technical detailing across the full range of our systems. This service provides the engineering and producer statement generation and shop drawings required for specific design projects. We believe that this integrated service reduces documentation time and provides for a faster compliance pathway for peer reviewing where required, and building consent.
With ECI or ECE involvement you gain the following benefits;
- Building a trust relationship with our technical and design teams early on
- Value engineering - Time / Cost / Quality / Performance of the proposed design
- We provide early design inputs and assistance with technical detailing to deal with problems early on – saving on variation costs
- Price & scope certainty due to more precise main contractor tendering
- In-house high risk Producer Statement author which streamlines the consent process
- We are able to forward plan and procure materials earlier avoiding unnecessary delays
- We are able to provide proactive management of construction risk for critical path trade
Engineering
Delivering successful high performance façade solutions demands specialist knowledge and expertise, we have in-house professional registered structural and façade engineers specifically assessing each façade design for structural and environmental (seismic and wind) loading and ensure that the façade solution is code compliant.
We have designed several thousand extrusions and many thousands of specific engineered solutions to meet the aesthetic intent of our client’s design and imposed engineering challenges. Our solutions have included highly complex engineered features as demonstrated in projects such as the University of Auckland School of Science 302, Spark HQ - Christchurch, New Plymouth Airport and FMG Office building - Christchurch; as well as features that have never been undertaken in New Zealand showcased in ASB North Wharf -Auckland and University of Auckland Business School.
Manufacturing
Thermosash has manufacturing facilities in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch operating with sustainable methodologies including responsible purchasing practices, recycling, reuse or responsible disposal.
We manufacture prefabricated unitised curtainwall, commercial windows, commercial doors & sliders, solar shading - fins and louvres, rooflights, mechanical air louvres and rainscreen as well as architectural metal pressings and folding and perforated sheet metal products.
We constantly reinvest in plant and machinery, and provide ongoing staff training, to enable us to remain innovative and cutting edge in our manufacturing capabilities. We have experienced teams of aluminium fabricators and assemblers, CAD/CAM operators, CNC machinists as well as aluminium sheet metal operators working on a variety of specialist machinery.
The thousands of aluminium extrusions and architectural metal pressings we produce in our facilities are manufactured from super low-carbon aluminium supplied in partnership with a local NZ-owned extruder. We also exclusively use local powder coaters who have stringent sustainable handling processes.

Installation
Thermosash has experienced installation teams focused on delivering exceptional project outcomes, safely and on time, with attention to detail and well considered methodologies.
Our prefabricated facade solutions enable us to close in buildings rapidly saving on programme time and mitigating risk to follow-on critical trades. We have efficient manufacturing and logistics capabilities to ensure just-in-time site delivery, reducing site clutter and the need for large storage areas.
We have a wide range of the latest site equipment to assist with the installation of façades to tight tolerances. We are able to minimise time that a tower crane is required for installation of the façade, and on low rises, due to utilizing our unique lifting and launching equipment we can often do away with the need all together.
