Massey University School of Veterinary Sciences - Ngā Huia

Project Overview

Ngā Huia a three-storey modern veterinary research and teaching facility situated at Massey University in Palmerston North, was officially opened in November 2025. It is the final building in the third stage of the development of the state-of-the-art Veterinary Sciences student learning complex.

The Huia bird inspired the design of the building and is reflected in the yellow-coloured glazing and other yellow facade elements, as well as the white patterned woven designs on the glazing.

Thermosash facade solutions include:

  • PW1000-TB200 thermally broken glazed aluminium curtainwall incorporating:
    • frit patterned glazing
    • integrated yellow rainscreen cladding
    • integrated louvres
  • Decorative Pou at front entrance - blue sheetmetal cladding, (the Perspex design was supplied by others)
  • Delta Commercial windows
  • Delta Commercial doors, louvre doors and sliders
  • Aluminium rainscreen cladding to roof stacks.
  • Channel Glazing
  • Auto doors, framed bi-parting - 4 units
