AIA House Smales Farm

AIA House situated in Takapuna, has undergone a structural upgrade and refurbishment. The owner and tenant are committed to achieving the highest energy efficiency for the building and wanted to make use of more natural light entering the building and provide a view for the occupants - which was being hampered by the existing solar shade grills.

Thermosash removed and dismantled the existing cladding (400 Curtainwall and 150 sunshade panels) and recycled the materials. The East, North and South elevations have been reclad with high-performance Thermosash PW1000 Unitised aluminium curtainwall integrated with flush glazed 32mm Clear Low E solar control IGUs. 

The end result is a building with a modern energy efficient facade delivering excellent internal light levels and clear views for the occupants.
