New Plymouth Airport

New Plymouth Airport was a highly technical delivery with a very complex grid and structural frame incorporating large panes of glass.  Beca Architects designed the building to reflect the history of the Taranaki site, and from a distance the length of the building forms the pattern of the feathers of a bird's wing.

The airport is a finalist for the NZIOB (New Zealand Institute of Building) Interdisciplinary Collaboration Award.
