AUCKLAND

David Hayes - Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

David has had more than 29 years of practical experience at the helm of Thermosash, NZ’s leading façade curtain wall company. His father founded Thermosash in 1973 and David joined the company in 1982 gaining experience both in NZ and at Vistawall, a large American curtainwall supplier. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer specialising in façade engineering and is responsible for system design solutions for the Group. In this role he has been closely involved with some of the most prestigious and award winning buildings around New Zealand. David has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Auckland University and is currently a member of the Ministry of Building & Housing Envelop Advisory Panel.

 

Rod Fergusson - National Finance Director

Before joining Thermosash in 1986 as Financial Controller, Rod had leading finance related roles in businesses including the travel industry and a large American Pharmaceutical company. Along with Laurie Hayes, Rod was instrumental in the establishment of Aluminium Surface Finishes Ltd and Woods Glass (NZ) Ltd. In 1987 Rod was appointed to the Thermosash Board responsible for all accounting, administration and finance.

 

Roger Davies - Operations Manager

Roger joined TCL in February 2002 as the Auckland Operations Manager. His initial background was in heavy civil engineering projects which involved work in NZ, the UK, Middle East and Australia. Roger has worked in the building industry for many years as a main contractor, sub-contractor and project manager across a variety of differing projects. His primary role is to co-ordinate the manufacture of product for installation on to building sites.

 

Martin Pearce - Chief Estimator

Martin has been the chief estimator for Thermosash since 1998 after managing the contracts department for 10 years prior to that. Martins unwavering attention to detail has been honed by working in the aluminium and curtain wall industry for most of his working career, including having spent time as an installer on some high rise projects in Auckland City in the early 90’s. Martins oversees all estimation originating from the Auckland office.

 

Kent Nixon - Business Development Manager

Kent has been in the construction industry since 1989. Working through the industry in primary roles within architectural practices, bespoke industrial design and engineering companies, commercial project management, development manager and construction design management. Kent is passionate about the construction industry and joined Thermosash to aid in further developing the Thermosash business, brand and subsidiary businesses. Kent is a Registered New Zealand Architect (BArch) and holds a NZCD (Architectural)

 

Karen Baeyertz

Karen is the face behind our admin@thermosash.co.nz address. She is well placed to be the central point of contact, having completed an Honours business degree with a double major in E-Business and Enterprise Development. This means she not only understands the challenges and demands businesses face with their on-line presence and the desire for instant responses, but also the academic drivers behind business growth and development.

Additionally, she has capped it off with a PhD, exploring in her doctoral thesis the interface between design and entrepreneurship. As such she offers a unique perspective in our Thermosash environment where both design and innovation in design are paramount to our continued presence in the market.

 

WELLINGTON

Dave Rooker - Area Manager and Director – Wellington

David joined Thermosash in 1994 after 17 years in the window industry mostly in the UK. His early experience as a draughtsman led to senior project manage ment positions with Crittal’s and Hinchcliff in England. During this time he spent two years with Thermosash in Wellington and then decided to return to NZ in 1994 to manage Te Papa Museum project. On its completion he became Area Manager of the Thermosash operation in Wellington in 1996. David was appointed to the board of Thermosash in 2002. David has qualifications in Building Studies with a TEC qualification from Hall Green Technical College in England and a HTEC qualification from Warley Technical College in England

 

CHRISTCHURCH

Allan Valli - South Island Area Manager

Allan joined Thermosash in Wellington in 2002 after being involved in the construction industry for 35 years. His early experience was with Parkin Glass and Metro Glass before running his own business as a curtain wall installer. Thermosash approached Allan to become the Commercial Manager for Wellington responsible for QS and Estimating as well as assisting in contract s et up and management. He was appointed to his present role in 2008 to take over the new South Island factory and marketing role as Area Manager. Allan has a Trade & Advanced Trade Carpentry certificate

 

Barry Davis - Contracts Manager

Barry joined Thermosash in 2004 when Thermosash took over Custom Aluminium as Thermosash (Christchurch) Contracts Manager. Barry started in the industry in 1993 in the sheet metal trade and leading up to Thermosash was working for an engineering firm that focused on balustrade to light structural work Barry has a Trade certificate in mechanical Engineering

 

Andrew Khor - Quantity Surveyor

Andrew joined Thermosash (Christchurch) in 2005 and comes from a quantity surveying background with over 20 years in the aluminium and glazing industry. He has been involved in several major curtain wall façade projects in Malaysia and Singapore prior to joining Thermosash. Andrew is responsible for QS and Estimating functions in the Thermosash (Christchurch) office. Andrew has a Dip. Building Technology and is a member of CIOB (UK)
